ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - Officers and members of the Board of Governors of the Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club were sworn into their new terms in office at the annual reorganization of the Yacht Club at the club house in the Municipal Yacht Harbor.
Jack Glass was sworn in as Commodore, and Christopher Stone as Vice Commodore. Frank Allsman, who was treasurer last year, will serve a year as rear commodore, and Elaine Hayden is continuing as secretary. Corresponding secretary is Helen Parker, and treasurer is Susan Hillers.
Glass and the other officers took their oaths of office in the presence of no fewer than 12 former commodores, with Charles Boeddinghaus, the earliest serving past commodore present . Boeddinghaus served as Commodore in 1981.
Board members named to serve are Eileen Campbell, Jack Grodeska and Susan Mikaitis. Ms. Campbell and Ms Parker were unable to attend and will take their oaths of office at the Board of Governors meeting this month.
In stepping down as commodore and assuming the PPC, immediate past commodore position, Jeff McDaniel said he feels his greatest accomplishment during his one year term at the helm was in re-opening the Yacht Club kitchen after renovations and enabling members and guests to have dinners and special events. The club hired Jonathan Jimenez earlier this year to be the Yacht Club chef.
