LONG BRANCH, NJ - Do you spend your weekends at the beach? Did you know you could do so while benefitting a local charity? Join Turner Syndrome Foundation at the New Jersey Marathon on April 28 & 29 on the boardwalk in Long Branch! Events include a 5K and family fun festival on Saturday, April 28th and the half marathon, full marathon, and half marathon relay on Sunday, April 29th!
Turner Syndrome Foundation (TSF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by Turner Syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects 80,000 women and girls in the U.S. Typical features of Turner Syndrome include short stature, diabetes, heart abnormalities, hearing loss and more. Women and girls living with Turner Syndrome are miracles because 97-99% of babies with Turner Syndrome will not survive to full term. We invite you to join Team TSF at the New Jersey Marathon and make a difference for these miracle girls and women.
Not a runner? We have opportunities for you to participate, too! Volunteer at the event and help Turner Syndrome Foundation meet their volunteer goals! This is a great chance for you, your club, or your organization to complete volunteer hours. Volunteers always have a blast at this event handing out medals to race finishers, directing runners on the course, or helping at the Turner Syndrome Foundation Treats and Sweets bake sale! Volunteer Saturday, Sunday, or both days – the choice is yours! Certificates for volunteer hours are available.
If you’re still not sure if this event is right for you, take Joan DeVito’s word for it, a NJ Marathon participant since 2011, “If anyone is on the fence about attending, we would strongly encourage you to do so. It is a fun-filled day for the kids and grownups as well and a wonderful opportunity to meet Turner Syndrome families and form new friendships!”
Register today by visiting www.TurnerSyndromeFoundation.org or calling Turner Syndrome Foundation at (800) 594-4585. Grab your friends, we’ll meet you at the beach!
