NAVESINK, NJ - All Saints' Memorial Church, locally known as 'The Stone Church', will be offering a Blessing of the Animals Service in two locations this year! This annual tradition at All Saints' and in many churches is in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, who was known for his love for all God's creation, treating all fellow creatures as brothers and sisters.
On Monday, October 2nd, The Rev. Debbie Cook, Rector of All Saints' Memorial Church, will be at Happy Tails Veterinary Hospital at 827 Broad Street (Gerard Plaza), Shrewsbury, NJ from 6 pm until about 9 pm. All Pets are welcome for a brief service at 6 pm and individual pet blessings throughout the evening in honor of St. Francis Day.
A Blessing of the Animals service will also be offered on All Saints' grounds on Sunday, October 1st at 1 p.m., rain or shine. All pet owners are invited to join us with your pets, whether they're on a leash, in a crate, box, tank or cage! The service will include an individual blessing for each pet present. Prayers will also be offered for those who have lost pets in the past year.
All Saints' Memorial Church is an Episcopal parish of the Diocese of New Jersey, and is located at 202 Navesink Avenue in Navesink, NJ (your GPS may recognize it as Atlantic Highlands, NJ).
