THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER TO VOTE FOR THE SPECIAL SCHOOL ELECTION IS TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2017.
AT THIS SPECIAL ELECTION THE FOLLOWING PROPOSAL WILL BE VOTED UPON: HOLMDEL BOND PROPOSAL The Board of Education of the Township of Holmdel in the County of Monmouth, New Jersey is authorized: (a) to undertake renovations, alterations and improvements at Holmdel High School, Indian Hill School, William R. Satz Middle School and Village Elementary School, including acquisition and installation of furnishing, fixtures and equipment and site work; (b) to undertake the construction of an addition at Holmdel High School and William R. Satz Middle School, including acquisition and installation of furnishings, fixtures and equipment and site work; (c) to provide for the acquisition of land located at 34 Crawfords Corner Road, Holmdel, New Jersey and described on the official Township tax map as Block 26, Lot 5, by purchase, gift, condemnation or otherwise, including site development, improvements, related work and site work; (d) to appropriate $40,318,000 for such improvements; and (e) to issue bonds of the School District in the principal amount of $40,318,000. The final eligible costs of the improvements approved by the Commissioner of Education are $23,825,250 (consisting of $8,049,805 for Holmdel High School, $2,095,380 for Indian Hill School, $11,849,778 for William R. Satz Middle School and $1,830,287 for Village Elementary School). The State debt service aid percentage will equal 40% of the annual debt service due with respect to the final eligible costs of the projects. The proposed improvements include $10,089,432 (consisting of $8,490,099 for Holmdel High School, $107,820 for Indian Hill School $1,301,300 for William R. Satz Middle School and $190,213 for Village Elementary School) for school facility construction elements in addition to the facilities efficiency standards developed by the Commissioner of Education or not otherwise eligible for State Support pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:7G-5(g). The Board of Education is authorized to transfer funds between the projects.
