ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - Members and friends of the First Presbyterian Church are invited to hear the Rev. Paul Rack mark the Fourth Snday of Advent this weekend.
Rack's sermon, entitled "Jesus: The Lord Saves," is based on the message offered in Matthew 1:18-25. His sermon will be presented during the 11 a.m. Sunday service at the 126-year-old church at Third & E Highland Aves.
The church will also conduct a Nativity Eve Candlelight the service at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec.24 and a Christmas Day service at 11 a.m. Sunday when Rack's message will be entitled "Four Titles."
The David Nunez-directed adult choir will perform during each service.
"Jesus' conception is 'by the Holy Spirit,' according to Rack. "This is a big stumbling block for modern people, it seems.
That's because we take it as gynecological statement.
"But the point of Jesus' conception is that it was not up to a man but to the eternal creative breath of God."
