ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS -- The Rev. Paul F. Rack will preach on "One Body, Many Parts" during the 11 a.m. Sunday service at the First Presbyterian Church. The service will be based on Nehemiah 8:1-3, 5-6, 8-10; 1 Corinthians 12:12-31b and Luke 4:14-23.

"The balance between unity and diversity is a central one in life, and in the church," according to the pastor. "A unity that squashes diversity leads to a sterile and oppressive uniformity; a diversity that loses any sense of common purpose dissolves into chaos and conflict.

"Most of the time we are erring on one side of the other. Paul would have us work together for the common good as defined by the love of God revealed in Jesus Christ.  Because he is the Creator of all and present in all, Christ allows for a very wide diversity and inclusion; yet to so wide that any part is allowed to become dominant or destructive."

All area residents are invited to Sunday's worship service while all young people are urged to attend Sunday School, both of which begin at 11 a.m.

Area residents are also invited  to attend weekly Bible Study, held at 11 :15 a.m. Wednesdays at Sissy's Restaurant in the municipal harbor.
