ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - The First Presbyterian Church of Atlantic Highlands and the Hope Presbyterian Church of Tinton Falls will conduct a joint worship service at 10 a.m  Sunday at Walcott Park in Eatontown.

        A picnic will follow the service to which all area Presbyterians are invited. Members of both churches are invited to contribute food for the picnic.

        The Rev. Paul F. Rack, pastor of both churches, will present a sermon entitled "What Kind of Authority?" According to Rack, "After telling a parable about a wicked king which leads the disciples to question the nature of kingship, Jesus tells another parable, this time about wicked tenants, to lead his disciples to question the nature of authority,rethinking the Parable of the Talents from a different perspective."

        The pastor will also administer Holy Communion during the service,

        The Atlantic Highlands church will resume its scheduled 11 a.m. services on Sunday, Aug. 10.

       Summer services at the 124-year-old Atlantic Highlands church are held in the air-conditioned Fellowship Hall in the rear of the sanctuary as part of the summer-long casual program which includes bagels and coffee for attendees. All area residents are invited to attend the service at the church at Third and E. Highland aveues.

       The Atlantic Highlands church will also worship at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17 at the Gazebo at the Atlantic Highlands Municipal Yacht Harbor, with a picnic to follow. All area residents are welcome to attend.

         Child care and activities for all children are provided during all services held at the church. Sunday School will resume in the fall and all area children are welcome.
