ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - The Women’s Group of the United Methodist Churches of Atlantic Highlands and Navesink will hold their annual Holiday Bazaar and Luncheon on Saturday, November 12th from 10AM to 3PM. The Church is located in Atlantic Highlands at 96 Third Ave at Garfield Ave.  A sit-down luncheon will be served downstairs in Schoen Hall from 11:30 to 1:30, and take-out is available.  The bazaar offers something for everyone: hand crafted items, Christmas decorations, delicious baked goods, costume jewelry, children’s items, and the popular Nearly New and White Elephant collections.  New this year will be a face painter for children of all ages. Be sure to browse the used book library now located on the first floor near the parking lot entrance.

The Women’s Group of the combined churches has a long tradition of serving excellent food at their luncheons. The older of the two churches is the Navesink  United Methodist Church, founded in 1853. The Atlantic Highlands UMC, founded in 1882, has been in its current location since 1949, where the tradition of a flea market/bazaar was included with the luncheon. Funds raised at the Bazaar support a number of services for the churches. The Women’s Group donates funds known as “camperships” to enable children to attend Methodist summer camp. They provide the hospitality services for church events, including preparing meals for bereaved families after funeral services at the church.
