RED BANK, NJ — The 23rd annual “Liberty Extravaganza,” including a concert of all-American music and an audience sing-along of patriotic songs, is planned for July 2 at the First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank (Tower Hill), 255 Harding Road. The 7:30 p.m. concert is preceded by a strawberry festival and Dixieland jazz on the church patio beginning at 5 p.m.
The program features music by the Liberty Choir, soloists and a brass ensemble. The Liberty Choir is made up of choral singers from the church and the community. The program includes a selection of gospel songs and a medley of 1930s swing music, including “In the Mood” and “Jersey Bounce.” The audience will join in singing such favorites as “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” “
Doors open at 6:45 p.m. for admission to the concert. Early arrival is advised to be sure of a seat. The concert, part of the Tower Hill Concert Series, is free; an offering will be taken to offset series expenses. There is a charge $5.00 for a homemade strawberry dessert and beverage.
