FOL Monday Mix - February 4th – 10:00 AM – Joy and Cake - Atlantic Highlands Public Library
ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - Even as a young child, Elyse Hudacsko Rosati commandeered the ancient family mixer to experiment with a new cake or cookie recipe. Almost 30 years later the old mixer has been replaced but the passion still remains.
As a graduate from Cornell University School of Engineering in 1992, Elyse began a career first in consulting and later in human resources. Her love of baking led her to part time work with a local pastry chef, followed by studies at The Institute for Culinary Education in New York and The Ritz Escoffier School in Paris. Elyse has had the privilege of studying with famed cake designers Toba Garrett and Elisa Strauss.
In 2001 Elyse owned The Uncommon Cake until the birth of her first daughter in 2004.
Joy & Cake is a new beginning to a lifelong dream. Her beautiful designs, magical flavors and inspired experience come together to delight the senses. Each cake is visually breathtaking. By taking inspirations from the simplest moments, the most amazing places, and the hottest trends, she creates a beautiful work of art for each celebration.
A detail on a dress, a favorite bloom, or a vintage piece of jewelry can serve as the muse for an exceptional cake. Or Elyse will tap into a favorite item, color or memory to provide inspiration to create a unique and personal cake. For a child, hobby or a favorite character - just about anything a child loves - can make it into a spectacular cake.
Elyse will make flavor suggestions to enhance the feel of the celebration. Fresh herbs, spices and flowers are used to add just a bit of extra magic. All of her creations are entirely from scratch … right down to her homemade vanilla.
