SEA BRIGHT, NJ - Sea Bright residents are invited to a community dinner and bonfire to acknowledge the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy. The gathering will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Sea Bright Firehouse, Ocean Avenue.
After a buffet dinner, residents will assemble on the beach, where the Sea Bright Fire Department will light a bonfire to symbolize the town’s unity and progress toward recovery, even as residents continue to cope with the storm’s aftermath.
During the event, local artist Megan Gilhool will host a Hope Canvas, where residents can share messages and thoughts reflecting on the year passed, and hopes for the future. The completed canvas will hang in Borough Hall.
