To Whom It May Concern:
As a conservative taxpayer of Middletown who is very concerned with protecting our environment as well as keeping property taxes as low as possible, I would like to extend my congratulations to Mayor Gerry Scharfenberger for his recent passage of an ordinance which will allow the recycling of mixed paper, cardboard and corrugated boxes and the new Recycle2Save program. This program will literally keep tons of paper out of our landfills, while recycling the collected materials into new paper products to be used again. Most important, the revenue generated from the sale of the recycled paper will provide a much needed revenue source for the town. This is the kind of creative thinking that we need from our elected officials if we are ever to lower property taxes in New Jersey. I would like to thank Mayor Scharfenberger for his commitment to protecting our environment and his innovative ideas to lower property taxes.
