Dear Friend,

In 2007, Mayor Frederick Rast III launched The Community Events Committee as a non–political effort to raise funds for community organizations. To date, the Committee has donated over $100,000 to local groups.

This year, the AHCEC has decided to fund three groups who all do outstanding work in the community:

1. The Henry Hudson Regional School PTO used much of the funds they had collected for school projects to benefit the victims of Super Storm Sandy. Now, they need to replace those funds in order to complete the original projects.

2. The Atlantic Highlands Lions Club has requested funds for their youth group – The Leos – to augment their efforts to complete worthwhile projects in town, including a monument restoration and holding a “Senior Prom” for our older residents.

3. The Genevieve Hawley Foundation that gives scholarships to students who volunteer in the community, as well as supporting other local philanthropic efforts.

The ball will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014, at the Beacon Hill Country Club, 8 Beacon Hill Road. The theme is “The Great Gatsby” and will include “Casino” gambling; and New This Year - Horse Racing!

We hope that you will support this event with a donation or a sponsorship. We have two opportunities for sponsorship, the first is the 2014 Ad Journal, a form is attached for you to complete. The second is a” A Night at the Races” where for $50.00, you can name the horse in a race. or for $500 you can name the race (ex. “Rast Run”) and all ten horses.

We thank you in advance for your generosity and support of Atlantic Highlands.
