Have you ever looked into the eyes of your pet, and swore you knew what he or she was thinking? Have you ever shared a tender moment with your pet, made a special connection that defied explanation? Have you ever longed for the comfort of knowing that the animals you loved and lost still exist, are happy, whole, and able to feel your love for them? If you have, then you will understand animal communication.
It is impossible to pinpoint the origin of animal communication; man's interaction with animals dates to the beginning of time. In 1960, John Lilly, M.D., a pioneer in interspecies communication, created a human-dolphin co-habitat in the U.S. Virgin Islands to study the communication between humans and the bottle-nose dolphin. As science probed such mysteries, Hollywood exploited their possibilities in such films as Doctor Doolittle (1967) and The Horse Whisperer (1995). Television introduced the world to famous pet psychic Sonya Fitzpatrick, former host of Animal Planet's now defunct program, “The Pet Psychic,” and host of “Animal Intuition” on SIRIUS Radio. While Fitzpatrick's claims of a visitation by Saint Francis of Assisi, and the hefty fees she charges for her services, might make pet communication appear otherworldly and out of reach for the average person, there are those, like psychic and animal communicator Erin Renee, who believe a connection between humans and pets is totally natural and obtainable.
A mother of five children ranging in ages two to sixteen, Ms. Renee first realized she could communicate with animals when she was twelve years of age. While working with horses, she believes she felt a “guiding force” urging her to “be one with the horse.”
“I know it sounds really hokey,” She explained. “But that's what I heard, and I began to do just that! I listened with my intuition. I could tell if there was pain with the horses I worked around.”
Listening to her intuition paid off; Erin Renee's inner voice led her to find abandoned baby kittens and to begin training dogs and horses. For the past twenty three years, Erin Renee has been “using my intuition to help people and animals have happier, more productive lives.” By linking an individual animal's energy with its owner's, Erin Renee is allegedly able to conduct long distance pet psychic readings and to communicate with animals who have crossed over.
Through connecting with an animal's energy, Erin says she becomes familiar with the animal's personality and issues. Some animals, she claims, are serious; others are jokesters. But exactly how, you ask, is this psychic connection made?
Erin explains: “I receive information in my reading with animals in the form of feeling the emotions and actually exploring their bodies with my “sight.” It's like I am inside their bodies seeing where they hurt or where they are stiff. I see a joint issue inside and out. It's not gross...it just is. So I transfer that information to the client so they can help that animals with issues. I do not always feel the pain physically, but I can feel pressures alerting me to places that need attention in the body.”
A psychic connection with an animal is not, however, guaranteed. Erin describes animals as similar to people in that they do not always wish to communicate. There are times, she claims, when she senses an animal is hiding its energy from her. Contrary to what animal lovers might believe, animals are not always trying to tell us something. Some pets, Erin says, are skiddish or shy spirits; others are not intelligent or emotional. Some just want to say “hey, how ya doin'?”
“I know that's funny,” Erin explained. “But if they are in a good way with their owners, and everything is good with them, then they just are really friendly and want to see what's up with me. It's like a friendly conversation.”
There are times when Erin Renee is unable to make a connection with the client, or her reading is not on target.
“Sometimes, I cannot be 100%,” She admits. “But then again...if someone really wants a reading, I can sense that, and sometimes I feel others are testing me, too. Sometimes, I wonder if my subconscious reacts to that as well.”
Erin believes that animals often relay their pain and stiffness to her. Most dogs, she says, try to tough it out.
“They just accept stuff. Maybe that's why we love them so much. They just try not to complain. I also get a lot of worry about separation anxiety and how they just want to go with their owners. People need to get it that the dog sees its person as its leader, and their union is a pack...so the animal's thought process says that it needs to go on the hunt as well. I think if we speak in a voice as well as projected thought, we can have a positive effect with the dog that has anxiety issues.”
Dedicated animal lovers will be comforted to hear that Erin believes animals have souls, live on in “animal heaven,” “rarely leave their people,” and “spiritually stick close to those they loved the most.” Erin has supposedly learned that animals exist on various levels of the after-life; we are all “thought forms of our Creator,” and there is no separation on the Other Side.
Erin Renee believes that anyone can communicate with animals.
“I think most people are psychic on some level,” She advises. “hey just have to cut out all the static to really pay attention to spiritual energy. My advice for people who would like to learn this technique is this: listen to your gut feeling! It takes time to build on your intuition. It takes trust that you can do it. You have to trust what your guidance is saying. Many of us have been brought up to think that our minds are making things up, that it's just our imagination. That it's just your imagination, that you're not seeing things. Your eyes are playing tricks on you.” If you actually begin to trust what comes to your mind, trust your visions and dreams, trust your gut feeling, you will be making huge strides in learning to open up to psychic ability and spiritual energy, in the form of guidance and inner wisdom. If you trust, so will others around you, and pretty soon, you will be able to “hear” your animal friends.”
