Atlantic Highlands Arts Council Presents Author Lecture Series - "Finding the Spiritual in the Musical", October 17

On Friday, October 17th at 7:30 pm at the Paper Moon Puppet Theatre, 171 1st Avenue, join the Atlantic Highlands Arts Council in this author lecture series featuring Raymond Perrier. Raymond will discuss his wonder about what has happened to the historically close relationship between faith and the arts, and whether theatre and music may find a way of reconciling the relationship going forward.

Raymond has headed the Jesuit Institute of South Africa as its Lay Director since January 2010, a position that fuels his passion for education and brings together management experience in international business and NGOs, in developed and developing countries, and in delivery and consulting.

The institute is a think tank, research and advocacy effort dedicated to encouraging debate on current social issues and to stimulating critical reflection, research and dialogue.

Originally from the UK, Raymond worked for 14 years for Interbrand, one of the world's leading branding firms. He created and led the market-leading Brand Valuation practice, which pioneered the financial capitalization of brands for stock exchange, fiscal and financing purposes.

Subsequently, he was a trainee Jesuit priest for six years and, for two of those years, he lived and worked at Rhino Camp in Uganda as Project Director for the Jesuit Refugee Service, which was home to 60,000 Sudanese refugees.

Raymond holds an MA in philosophy and theology from New College Oxford, an MA in Philosophy from Heythrop College of the University of London, and an MSc in human rights from the London School of Economics.

Tickets are $10 and available at the door or online at www.aharts.org.  Tickets are limited.

The AHAC is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  The mission of the Atlantic Highlands Arts Council is to strengthen community through the arts.  For further information on the Arts Council, visit aharts.org.
