Educated, by Tara Westover, is this month’s selection and was named one of the ten best books of the year by the New York Times Book Review. as well as named a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle’s Award in autobiography and a finalist for the Los Angeles Book Prize A first book for Westover, it is a memoir of a young woman from Idaho who never attended school until she as 17 but left her family to eventually earn a PhD from Cambridge University.
Club Chair Lori Montana said while it has not yet been decided when the library will re-open, it is unlikely the meeting room or the computers at the Monmouth County library branch in borough hall will be available for use. That leaves the possibility books for the next selection may have to be ordered in advance, and members can either come in and pick them up or a librarian will meet members outside with the books. In an outside pickup similar to supermarkets and restaurants. Club members will have to acquire the June selection on their own, Montana said.
