HOLMDEL    International best-selling author Laura Schroff will be at the Holmdel Branch of the Monmouth County Library Wednesday, May 16 at 7 p.m. speaking on her best seller, “An Invisible Thread,” as well as her most recent book, “Angels on Earth.”

The author and keynote speaker, a former advertising executive with major media companies, was raised in Long Island and currently lives in Westchester.

Her bestselling “An Invisible Thread” has been on the New York Times bestsellers list for 39 weeks and has garnered the author numerous awards including the Christopher Award, a Dreamcatcher Aware, and Local Hometown Hero Award. The book is a finalist for Books for a Better Life.

The book, which is based on the true story of the chance encounter the author had with an 11-year-old panhandler that changed her life, highlights the importance of being open to opportunities where they can make a difference in the lives of others. In the more than 200 keynote talks Schroff has given since the book was published in 2011, the author also encourages her audience to look for their own invisible threat connections and feel better about themselves.
Having left the advertising field after her writing success, Schroff now devotes her time to advocating and inspiring others to recognize the power of small acts of kindness and mentorship. The book remains on required reading lists for numerous schools and was the basis for a Simon & Schuster’s Education team Common Core Standards Curriculum Guide.

A second book, “An Invisible thread Christmas Story,” is for children between the ages of 4 and 8 and was released in 2015. It tells the story of a little boy who gave his only possession, a stuffed teddy bear with a red heart, to a little girl to show his appreciation for their friendship. That book has also received a Christopher Award.

Schroff’s third book, Angels on Earth, was released in 2016 and highlights the ripple effect of acts of kindness and shows ways each person can both live a happier life and provide the same for others through simple acts of kindness.

The author will have books available for sale, with payment by cash or check, and will be available to sign autographs at the library event.
