Appraisals at the library
SHREWSBURY - Limited registration is still available for the May 6 Antique Appraisal Event scheduled for the Eastern Branch of the Monmouth County Library, Route 35, between 2 and 3 p.m.
The event will be led by antiques dealer John H. Thompson, and Rochelle Christopher, executive director of Victorian Vanities, the Philadelphia based firm that specializes in appraisals for interest, education and entertainment.
Registration is necessary for attending the event because of limited seating, and appraisals are limited to the first 40 items registered. Registration for appraisals can be made in advance by calling the library at 866-941-8188.
Those wishing to have an item appraised are limited to a single item and agree the information is not to be used for insurance or estate purposes. Appraisers will not accept gold jewelry, firearms or Nazi memorabilia for appraisal during the event.
Funded in part by the Friends of the Monmouth County Library, the event is interesting for the historic and appraisals aspects of the entertaining afternoon. Paintings, collectibles, toys, oddities, small furniture and knick-knacks are all eligible for registration for appraisal at the event.
