Holmdel Township

Holmdel, NJ – The Holmdel Township Committee is pleased to announce that the 2022 municipal budget was adopted at the March 22nd Township Committee Meeting.

“In this budget we were able to make enhancements to the Township overall, and in particular to the Swim Club, the Department of Public Works, and to public safety,” said Holmdel Mayor Greg Buontempo. “Doing all this and keeping the tax rate flat is an amazing accomplishment, while still maintaining the highest level of programs and services for our residents. I can’t think of a better budget to put forward.”

Several members of the Finance Advisory Committee attended Tuesday’s meeting to show their support for the budget proposed for adoption. “This advisory committee reviewed the 2022 budget in detail,” stated Dr. Zachary Gilstein, chair of the Finance Advisory Committee. “We believe the 2022 budget is a sound presentation of the expected revenues and appropriations in 2022.”

Deputy Mayor Prakash Santhana, liaison to the Finance Advisory Committee, echoed the words of the mayor and finance chair. “The budget includes payments for the largest bonding we’ve ever done for capital improvements – this includes improvements to our roads, the Swim Club, and a host of other things that were not attended to for many years.” The deputy mayor continued, “we did this at the right time, and it is going to save the Township a lot of money long-term.”

The adopted 2022 municipal budget will be available for viewing and downloading on the Township’s website.
