Radon test kits

HOLMDEL, NJ – The Township Committee has declared January to be Radon Action Month in Holmdel Township. In conjunction with Radon Action Month, the Township will once again distribute free radon test kits for residents (while supplies last).

The test kits will be available on a first-come, first serve basis beginning Wednesday, January 19th at 8:30am. To pick up your free test kit, visit the Administration Office on the second floor of Town Hall during normal business hours.
Radon is a naturally occurring gas formed when radium and uranium break down in the soil. The gas can enter homes through openings around pumps, pipes, and drains as the gas moves through the soil. It is important to test for the presence of radon gas as it is odorless, colorless, and can have serious health effects.

The kits are limited to ONE per household, while supplies last. Residents may not pick up a kit on behalf of someone else.
