ASBURY PARK, NJ — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coastal & Northern New Jersey (BBBSCNNJ) held their Bigger Together celebration on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Cross & Orange in Asbury Park, NJ. The event included food and beverages, live music, and opportunities for guests to learn about and support the one-to-one mentoring programs provided by BBBSCNNJ.
Remember Jones duo provided live music which infused the evening with a fun energy. Attendees enjoyed a variety of passed hors d’oeuvres and Confections of a Rockstar donated the desserts. The program kicked off with an overview of Big Brothers Big Sisters from Board of Trustees President, Barry Weshnak, followed by a warm welcome from Board of Trustees member and owner of Cross & Orange, Robert Fahey. Big Brother Matt Matey and Little Brother Josh shared a moving testimonial about their friendship and the different ways they’ve supported each other, including a recent push up challenge they completed virtually.

A highlight of the evening was the live auction led by Board of Trustees Second Vice-President, Michael Salerno, that included the opportunity to “Make-A-Match” where attendees pledged the cost of bringing a child together with a caring, adult mentor and for professional supervision of the match for the first year. A total of 20 Matches were funded during the live auction.
“Our agency is grateful to all of our supporters for their continued commitment to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Through their generosity, BBBSCNNJ is able to maintain and build upon our one-to-one mentoring programs that provide caring mentors to children in the 10 counties we represent throughout New Jersey,” said William Salcedo, Executive Director.
