FREEHOLD, NJ –The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners issued the following statement regarding the terrorist attacks in Kabul, Afghanistan on August 26:

“We are horrified and heart-broken by the terrorist attacks that occurred in Kabul, Afghanistan on August 26th, which took the lives of 13 United States service members and injured dozens more.

We think about the brave men and women serving at home and abroad every day, but especially today as we mourn those who have made the ultimate sacrifice as they fought to help and protect those trying to flee from Kabul.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the 13 service members who lost their lives and all of the victims who were injured, and we vow to never forget their service and sacrifice.”
