Alzheimer’s New Jersey®, the independent, New Jersey non-profit providing education and support to New Jersey families battling Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias is hosting a “Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s®” on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Point Pleasant Beach, corner of Arnold and Baltimore Avenues. The in-person walk will start at 10:00 am, with day-of registration beginning at 8:30 am, followed by a kick-off ceremony at 9:30 am. Individuals, families, local businesses, and organizations are invited to participate by registering online at www.alznj.org. Donations can be made online as well.
Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s is a fun-filled family event for people of all ages and backgrounds. The Walk raises funds for the organization’s education and support programs benefiting New Jersey residents including families from Monmouth and Ocean Counties. These programs include family support groups, community education programs, a toll-free telephone Helpline, the Respite Care and Wellness Program, and the Clinical Trial Connections® program.
There is no registration fee. However, fundraising is encouraged and vital to the success of the event. Walkers will receive a promotional tote bag and walkers who raise $50 or more will receive a complimentary event T-shirt.
“We are very excited to host this walk in-person” says Ken Zaentz, President and CEO of Alzheimer’s New Jersey. “It’s so important for families affected by Alzheimer’s disease to come together as a community to honor loved ones and connect with other families facing the same challenges and know they are not alone – even more so because of COVID-19. So register today and join the fight. When you walk with Alzheimer’s New Jersey – 100% of funds raised will benefit New Jersey families.”.
