MIDDLETOWN, NJ   – On Wednesday,  September 23, 2020, at approximately 5:43a.m., Middletown Twp Police responded to a report of a missing person.  The subject, Mary Silengo, 62, is believed to have walked away from her residence in Shadow Lake Village.  Shadow Lake Village is an age restricted, 55 and over community.

Ms. Silengo is a white female with blond and gray hair.  She was last seen wearing a bright pink pajama shirt and gray sweat pants.  She may have been wearing a denim jacket and dark colored shoes.

The police, with the assistance of the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit and the Middletown  Twp Fire Department, conducted an extensive search of the residence, the community, the adjacent wooded areas, and the bordering waterways,  Shadow Lake and the Navesink River. The police were aided in their efforts by the homeowners association and residents within the community who were actively looking for Ms. Silengo. 

On Thursday, September 24th, officers from Middletown and the State Police continued their search efforts in the community and surrounding areas.  They were aided by New Jersey State Police Search and Rescue Unit, as well as volunteers with the Search and Rescue Council of New Jersey.  Chief Weber said, “This investigation remains active and search efforts are ongoing and anyone with information about Ms. Silengo’s whereabouts is asked to contact police.”  Information can be called the Middletown Twp.
