ATL HIGHLANDS – With masks available for anyone in need, and a garden overlooking the Municipal Yacht Harbor and the New York skyline, the Republicans of Atlantic Highlands held their first fund raising event for the 2020 season, attracting  approximately 75 guests to the home of Mayor Loretta and Steve Gluckstein on Ocean Blvd.

Candidate for Congress Christian Onuoha, Senate candidate Dr Rick Mehta, incumbent County Clerk Christine Hanlon and Freeholder Lillian Burry and Freeholder candidate Ross Licitra joined local GOP candidates for borough council Ellen O’Dwyer Woods and Dave Krupinski  in appreciating the gathering, the weather and the camaraderie all are certain will lead them to victories in November.

Christian Onuoha who is challenging long time congressman Frank Pallone, said he believes his youth, his young family and the lessons he learned at home from his hard working immigrant parents will all benefit his constituents if he is successful in unseating Pallone.

Licitra, a former police officer, prosecutor and now head of the SPCA, said he will bring his experience in all these areas to continue the work of the experienced Freeholders and continue to be a voice for the people. Burry pointed out she is indeed that experience, and noted “I never promise anything I cannot deliver” pointing among other things to her 19 year battle to redesign the Route 34 County Route 537 intersection in Colts Neck as well as her continuing support and efforts towards veterans and veteran projects.

Dave Krupinski, responsible for rejuvenating the beautification committee in Atlantic Highlands and a member of the planning board, spoke about how Atlantic Highlands is a special town with an accent on supporting local businesses. He cited the many small businesses in the community naming the Atlantic Cinema and Jaspen’s Hardware as examples of home town convenience and smart business procedures. His experience in business and marketing is what he believes will help bring strategic thinking to the council to “Keep this town great.”

The event was sponsored by the local GOP Committee with Brian Boms as Chairman.
