lillian burry flagSHREWSBURY, NJ – It was a proud Freeholder Lillian Burry who inscribed her husband’s name on one of the hands affixed to the American flag in the lobby of the Eastern Branch of the Monmouth County Library Sunday, as dozens took advantage of the opportunity to honor loved ones, both living and deceased, who served in t he military by inscribing their names  on an applauding hand to create the  red and white stripes on t he flag.  Burry’s husband, Don, served as a Captain in the US Coast Guard.  The flag will be in the lobby, still accepting applauding hands, through November.
