Any doubt concerning Donald J. Trump’s qualifications/abilities as Commander in Chief was eradicated by Trump’s recent letter to Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey. The letter, in which Trump warns Erdogan to negotiate and refrain from harming Kurdish civilians, is shockingly ineffective and reveals Trump’s limited command of the English language and his clumsy self-expression. More importantly, the Erdogan letter, deemed “very powerful” by Trump, illustrates our President’s dangerous lack of foreign policy and negotiating skills and grants the entire world a peek into Trump’s methodology and mindset.
The text of President Trump’s letter to Recep Tayyip Erdogan:
“Let’s work out a good deal! You don’t want to be responsible for slaughtering thousands of people, and I don’t want to be responsible for destroying the Turkish economy — and I will. I’ve already given you a little sample with respect to Pastor Brunson.
I have worked hard to solve some of your problems. Don’t let the world down. You can make a great deal. General Mazloum is willing to negotiate with you, and he is willing to make concessions that they never would have made in the past. I am confidentially enclosing a copy of his letter to me, just received.
History will look upon you favorably if you get this done the right and humane way. It will look upon you forever as the devil if good things don’t happen. Don’t be a tough guy. Don’t be a fool!”

Apparently, in Trump’s view, negotiation is synonymous with threat, and “very powerful” simply means bullying. Moreover, the fact that Trump proudly released this letter to the public plainly shows he has absolutely no idea his credentials as a world leader and his communication skills are severely lacking. Trump’s letter to Erdogan is a total embarrassment. As a writing sample, Trump’s letter would be rejected for its limited vocabulary, choppy sentences, and adolescent style. As an official communication from The White House, the letter is ineffective and dangerously telling. The entire world now knows the United States has an imbalanced, inept individual in the Oval Office. To put it bluntly, as a foreign policy tool, Trump’s letter is garbage.
These are sad, sad days for America. Our 45th President, Donald J. Trump, is unfit to serve.
