MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Over 250 Kindergarten through 12th grade students from all 17 of the district’s schools will be showcasing their innovative projects at the third annual Innovation Fair on June 10, 2019. These projects reflect the district’s commitment to offer students personalized and authentic learning opportunities throughout the school year. Many of the students will be sharing their Genius Hour projects, which in Middletown are called “SPARK Projects.” SPARK is an acronym for Student Pathways to Autonomy, Relevance, and Knowledge. These projects encourage students to research a topic of interest to them, document their learning journey and design a product to share with their community.

The event will begin with “MTPS Talks,” short TED-style talks given by students on the High School North stage. Following this will be the fair portion of the event where students will be organized into themes such as; Scientists, Authors, Designers, Humanitarians, and Artists. The event will take place from 4:30-6:30 pm. The Innovation Fair is free and open to the public.
