police cruisersKEANSBURG, NJ – On February 17th, at approximately 11:00PM, Patrolman Brian VonBargen exited his patrol vehicle and observed two employees holding a subject in the parking lot of a local bar. Patrolman VonBargen identified the subject as Raymond Farparan. The two employees explained that Farparan was acting disorderly while inside and was asked to leave several times. Farparan got into one of the employees face and knocked a cell phone out of his hand when he attempted to call the police. Farparan was then removed from the bar and held until police arrived. The employees did not wish to pursue complaints and Farparan was advised to leave the area and not to return to the bar or he would be arrested. Farparan left without incident.

At approximately 01:14AM, patrol were dispatched back to the area because Farparan had returned. SGT. Joseph Jankowski located Farparan on the Henry Hudson Trail running back toward the bar. Patrolman VonBargen found Farparan in the parking lot holding on open one quart bottle of beer. Patrolman VonBargen placed Farparan under arrest and handcuffed him. While trying to place Farparan into the patrol vehicle Farparan became combative. SGT. Joseph Jankowski and Patrolman Christopher Figaro were trying to place Farparan into the vehicle when Farparan began kicking violently at Sgt. Jankowski and Patrolman Figaro. Farparan kicked Sgt. Jankowski in the chest and left wrist. Patrolman Figaro was kicked in the left side of his face. OC spray was administered to the face and eye area of Farparan and he was successfully secured inside of the patrol vehicle and transported to HQ.

Farparan was processed and charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a Police Officer, disorderly conduct, defiant trespassing, resisting arrest with physical force, and terroristic threats. He was also charged with having an open container of an alcoholic beverage on a borough summons. He as transported to Monmouth County Jail pending a court appearance.
