police cruisersMIDDLETOWN, NJ  – On October 31, 2018 at approximately 7:51p.m., Middletown Police responded to the area of Everett Road and Yale Drive in the Lincroft section of Middletown Twp. for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.  The pedestrian, a 14 year old male whose identity is not being released, sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries. 

The pedestrian was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment by Holmdel First Aid.  The driver, Nicholas J. Andrews, 19, of Union Beach, was arrested and issued summonses for Assault with a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence, Possession of Marijuana in an Amount Less than 50 Grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor or Drugs, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian, and Failure to Use Headlamps.

The crash was investigated by Ptl. Stephanie Burke and members of the Middletown Twp. Police Traffic Safety Unit.  Anyone with information pertaining to the crash is asked to contact Ptl. Michael Reuter of the Middletown Twp. Police Traffic Safety Unit at (732) 615-2045.
