ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – Paul White, Red Bank, will present a program on the life of an Irish immigrant at the turn of the 20th century on Wednesday, March 21st at the Strauss House Museum, 27 Prospect Circle.
White’s talk is based on his book, “I Hate to Write…” the story of his great grandmother, Edith McCormick, who came from Ireland in 1902 to settle in the United States. The book is named after the opening words of McCormick’s own diary, detailing her experiences from the time she arrived, including the changes she experienced while here and the death of her son during World War I on the battlefield of France.
A reception with the author will follow the presentations, and guess will have the opportunity talk with the author and purchase his book.
NO reservations are necessary to attend the program.
The museum is open Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. and my appointment. For further information, visit www.AHHistory.org
