MATAWAN, NJ – NY/NJ Baykeeper Board of Trustees will announce staff changes after the full NY/NJ Baykeeper Board meets in March. In the interim, NY/NJ Baykeeper’s Deputy Director, Greg Remaud has been named as the organization’s Acting Executive Director.

“Our core mission remains the same as it has for 29 years, fighting for clean water and access to our coasts and open space for everyone. Our board is working closely with staff to ensure a smooth transition,” said Greg Remaud, Deputy Director, NY/NJ Baykeeper.

Greg Remaud has long been a leading advocate for land preservation in densely developed communities. He has led and partnered in dozens of land acquisition, preservation and restoration projects throughout the NY-NJ Harbor region that have resulted in the permanent protection of 3,500 acres in areas where every undeveloped acre is important to the local community.  Greg is a Trustee on the board of the Meadowlands Conservation Trust, sits on the Liberty State Park Public Advisory Committee  and is past president of the Liberty State Park Conservancy.

Baykeeper and Executive Director Debbie Mans has been named as Deputy Commission of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, effective February 14, 2018. NY/NJ Baykeeper looks forward to supporting the NJ Department of Environmental Protection and Governor Murphy on clean water issues including reducing combined sewer overflows, improving stormwater management, and protecting open space.
