RED BANK, NJ – The Art Society of Monmouth County, ASMC, is kicking off the 2018 season with an exhibit devoted to photography. The Tom Wilczewski Memorial Photography Exhibit honors the memory of one of its past presidents and treasurer and will begin on Jan. 3, 2018 and will run through Jan. 27 when the ASMC will hold a reception and award ceremony for the prize winners.

Receiving for entry into the photography show will be held on Jan. 27 between 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. and the judge for the exhibit will be Ken DeBlieu, a well-known New Jersey professional photographer. Medals and cash awards will be given for Best in Show, Excellence, Achievement, and Whimsy. In addition, a number of Honorable Mention ribbons will be awarded.

The show is open to members and non-members. An ASMC member can enter three photographs, while non-members are limited to one. A per piece entry fee of $5 for members will be collected. The fee for non-members will be $10.

The ASMC, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month, is a nonprofit, volunteer organization that aims to promote education and appreciation for the visual arts in Monmouth County.  Besides monetary awards presented during each of four shows, an annual scholarship award is provided for a Brookdale Community College student enrolled in the Visual Arts Program through the Brookdale Community College Foundation.

This program is made possible in part by Monmouth Arts through funding from the Monmouth County Board of Chosen freeholders, and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
