MIDDLETOWN, NJ – On Tuesday, October 24th, all 17 of Middletown Township Public Schools were awarded Future Ready Schools New Jersey (FRS-NJ) certification at the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) Workshop 2017 conference.

FRS-NJ, a coalition of the NJSBA, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and the New Jersey Department of Education, is designed to best prepare our students for success in the digital age by promoting skills, abilities, and capacities essential for success in college, career, and citizenship. Additionally, the FRS-NJ program fosters and enables collaboration both within and between schools and districts throughout the State of New Jersey.

All Middletown Township Public Schools, K-12, exceeded the established requirements that were reviewed by the three Future Ready New Jersey Awards Committee sub-groups: Leadership, Education and Classroom Practice, and Technology Support and Services. The 17 Middletown schools achieved school certification aligned to the FRS-NJ Indicators of Future Readiness in the inaugural cohort which included 63 schools. As a result, Middletown Township Public Schools had the largest number of certified schools included in the initial cohort of Future Ready Schools – NJ.

This achievement was the result of the collaborative effort made possible by the innovation, passion, and leadership of our students, technology staff, educators, and administrators. Through the dedication of our staff, the district is empowering our students to take an active role in their own education and inspiring life-long learning. Our school community is committed to further implementation of personalized learning goals through research-based digital best practice strategies to ensure all students can achieve their full potential.

A formal celebration of this achievement will occur at 6:00 PM prior to the November 20th Board of Education Meeting at Middletown High School North, 63 Tindall Road, Middletown, NJ 07748.
