ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – The Front Porch Club in Atlantic Highlands is gearing up for its 13th Annual Chilifest, to be held Saturday September 30th at the Sandy Hook Bay Catamaran Club, 130 Center Ave, AH. The annual event has raised more than $100,000 for local non-profits over the last 12 years, with this year’s net proceeds going to the Henry Hudson Tri-District Education Foundation.

The event, held from 2 – 9pm, will include activities for kids, adult beverages from Carton Brewing and Brinley Gold Shipwreck Rum, and live music all day courtesy of The Elastic Waist Band, KUL d’Sack and Cranston Dean Band.

The highlight of the day features a contest for best chili submitted by area participants. Categories include Best in Fest, Most Exotic, Best Vegetarian, and People’s Choice Award. “What started as a small backyard barbeque 13 years ago has turned into one of the most popular events of the year,” said Charlotte Magee, event chair. “And the opportunity to raise money to help the local community makes it even more special.”
