ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – At approximately 3:42 on Wednesday August 30th, the Atlantic Highlands police and fire departments responded to 10 Ocean Boulevard for a fire alarm activation.    First arriving police officers encountered a heavy smoke condition on the Fifth floor of the ten story building.  

Police officers were able to evacuate all residents to safety while members of the fire department were able to make entry into the Fifth floor apartment, check for victims and extinguish an oven that was on fire.

This joint response and effort by both departments was able to contain the fire damage to one apartment, and successfully evacauate all present occupants from the building, resulting in minimal damage to the building and no reported injuries to anyone involved.

Assisting agencies where; Atlantic Highlands First Aid Squad, Highlands Fire Department and Community Fire Company of the Middletown Township Fire Department.
