LINCROFT, NJ  – Community members of all ages are invited to a day of games, prizes and family friendly activities on Sept. 30 during Brookdale Community College’s first Soccer Alumni Family Day, held at the college’s athletics complex in Lincroft.  

The free event, recognizing past and present Brookdale soccer stars, will feature meet-and-greets, refreshments, backyard games such as ladder ball and bean bag toss and soccer-themed prize competitions including a penalty kick shootout and a crossbar challenge.

Attendees are also invited to cheer on Brookdale’s men’s and women’s soccer teams as they compete against Rowan College at Gloucester County.

Activities will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the Brookdale men’s soccer game at 12 p.m. Prize competitions and a recognition ceremony for past Jersey Blues coaches and players will begin at 2 p.m., followed by the women’s soccer game at 3 p.m. Games and activities are free and open to the public.

Since it was established in 1970, the Brookdale men’s soccer team has claimed three regional titles in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and three Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) titles.

The women’s soccer team, first established in 1981, has captured 11 GSAC titles, seven NJCAA titles and three national NJCAA championships, most recently in 2015. The women’s soccer team is competing for its fifth consecutive NJCAA Region XIX title this year.
