HIGHLANDS – The Historical Society of Highlands is looking for a few good photos.

In preparing for a new exhibition on the borough which was founded in 1900, the Historical Society of Highlands is planning a display focusing on the Merry-Go-Round which was located on Bay Avenue for many years, and is seeking photos of all activities surrounding this popular attraction.

In addition to the carousel itself, housed in a round building on the main street where a series of townhouses is now located, the summer attraction also featured an outdoor train that circled the building and other rides and attractions within. Photos with people who are enjoying any of the attractions are particularly sought.

Persons with photographs of the merry-go-round that was at Highlands Beach from the beginning of the 20th century through the early 1950s are also invited to send photos of that attraction.

The exhibition is being planned by the Historical Society of Highlands for display at the Twin Lights Historical Museum.
