ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS — The Rev. Fred Whitehurst of Manalapan Township will be Sunday’s guest preacher when the First Presbyterian Church conducts its worship service at the Gazebo in the municipal yacht harbor.
All area residents are invited to attend the 10 a.m. service.
Whitehurst’s sermon will be entitled “Tangled Up in Blue” and will focus on the Matthew parable found in Matthew 13: 24-30 and 36-43.
He is a hospice chaplain.
A native of New Bern, N.C., he attended Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia and was ordained in 1996. He served at the Hapeville Presbyterians Church in Atlanta for nine years until 2009.
