ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS — Pastor Paul F. Rack will present a message entitled “”Now What?” during the Easter Sunday worship service starting at the First Presbyterian Church.
Members and friends, as well as all area residents, are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served before and after the church service.
Earlier in the morning, the annual community Easter Sunrise Service will be held at 6:30 a.m. at the yacht municipal harbor.
Confirmation of new church members will be held during the 11 a.m. service. Confirmation, according to Rack, “is not an ending but a new beginning for a life of faith for six young people” who are becoming members.
The pastor’s sermon is based on John 20:1-18.

“Mary’s encounter with the risen Jesus opens up to the mission of the church in his name.” Rack says. “It is not the conclusion of the story, but a new beginning.
“In this story, we are the characters, the protagonists. Inspired by his Spirit, energized by his life, informed by the testimony of Mary and the women, we move out into the world with good news.”
The David Nunez-directed adult choir will perform special music during the service in the 127-year-old church at Third and East Highland avenues.
Child care is available during the service.
