The show, named after a watercolor and oil painter who was one of the original members, will be on display through Saturday, April 29, when the Art Society will hold an awards reception from 1-2:30 p.m. Three prizes in each of five categories will be presented: oil/acrylic; pastel; watercolor; mixed media and photograph.

Also in April, award-winning watercolorist, Tom Wilczewski, will be the presenter at the Wednesday, April 19 meeting for members and artists who wish to find out more about the Art Society which meets on the third Wednesday of each month at the Middletown library.

Wilczewski, an entirely self-taught artist, draws his inspiration from nearby beaches and gardens. His works have been featured in a number of venues and have been utilized for greeting cards, brochures and calendars.  His watercolor painting of lilies was featured on the nationally distributed 2003 Easter Seals brochure. In addition to being an artist, he is also an author whose poetry book is entitled, “Poetry in Watercolor.” He has also written a book that is used for teaching called, “Tom Wilczewski’s Watercolor Workbook. “
