ah first presbyterian churchATLANTIC HIGHLANDS — The Rev. Paul F. Rack will preach on how we are all born spiritually blind — and if we want to see we have to let Jesus heal us — during the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service, marking the Fourth Sunday of Lent, at the First Presbyterian Church.

All members and friends, as well as all area residents, are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served before and after the church service.

The pastor’s sermon, entitled “Who Sinned” and is based on John 9:141.

“Here is a long story about Jesus healing a man who had been born blind,” according to Rack. “In a sense we are all born spiritually blind, requiring the new birth in the Spirit to begin to see the truth of who we are.

“This process is outlined in this passage, including an investigation by the authorities and the frightened testimony of his parents. ‘I once was blind, but now I see’ is now part of a great hymn, and it describes the Christian life. If we want to see, we have to let Jesus heal us.”
