wpc guitarMIDDLETOWN, NJ – Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) will serve up its first community outreach event to encourage people to use music to help find and express their faith and spirituality. The idea for Crossroads Coffeehouse, scheduled for Friday, March 31st at Harlan Hall, was brewed up by WPC’s Minister of Music, Erika Sayar.

The Crossroads Café will feature local vocalist BethAnne Clayton and the Westminster Presbyterian Church Good News Band, Matt Cook, Jordan Gilbert, Sean Hennessy, leader of Blackwater, the well-known Irish Band and other area musicians for a unique evening of uplifting entertainment. The Café will be serving faith-focused pop, rock, and praise and worship music from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. Doors open at 7:00 and music starts at 7:30.

Few if any venues in the area offer Contemporary Christian music entertainment, which has become widely popular over the past decade. WPC is hoping to make the Crossroads Café a place for musicians from Central New Jersey to showcase and fine-tune their faith-focused music talents.

According to Sayar, “A lot of people are looking for a break from the busy pace and pressure of life. Music can help them take their mind off the material world and lets them enjoy a peaceful, even spiritual experience. We hope offering them a chance to experience and appreciate this kind of music will be a hit with both church members and folks from the surrounding community.”

The event is free so reservations or tickets aren’t necessary, but a free will offering will be accepted. Holy Grounds coffee and light refreshments will also be available. There’s ample parking in the rear WPC lot next to Harlan Hall.
