ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – The Rev. Paul F. Rack will preach on the need to be reborn a second time during the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service — marking the Second Sunday of Lent — at the First Presbyterian Church.
All members and friends, as well as all area residents, are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served before and after the church service, which will be the first of the year during Daylight Savings Time.
The pastor’s sermon, entitled “Water and Wind” and is based on John 3:1-17.
“Jesus has a conversation with a guy named Nicodemus, the upshot of which is that having been born once is not enough,” according to Rack. “We must be reborn a second time “from above.
”In other words, our true nature, deeper than our ego-centric, mortal nature, must be realized. Most people go through their whole lives unaware that there even is a true nature beneath the existence we know.
