ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – The popularity of story time hours at the Atlantic Highlands branch of the Monmouth County Library has resulted in an additional story time session for babies ten months to two years old, Branch Manager Jane Reynolds announced.
“Each of the story times is a popular program,” Reynolds explained, “but so many parents and caregivers are attending the program for babies that we have added an extra session to accommodate the crowd comfortably.”
Baby Storytime is geared for babies between ten and 24 months of age with parent and/or caregiver in attendance. The time is generally dedicated to enabling the child and caregiver alike to enjoy nursery rhymes, music, finger plays and playtime and lasts 30 minutes. Baby Storytime is offered Wednesdays, Jan. 4, 11, 18 and 25 at 9:30 a.m. and again at 11:30 a.m. so attendees can select which time is most convenient.
In addition to Baby Storytime, special programs are offered for toddlers, between two and three years of age with a parent or caregiver on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 10:50 a.m. and concentrate on stories and song.
Preschool programs, for children between three and a half and five years of age, are held on Thursdays Jan. 5, 19 and 26 at 4 p.m., with a concentration on story time, crafts, and special guests during the half hour program; programs for school age youngsters, including kindergarten, are every Thursday from 3:15 to 3:50 p.m. when a variety of different activities is offered.
