ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS — The Rev. Paul F. Rack will preach Sunday on how only the obedient really believe and only the believer is truly obedient
The pastor will speak at the 11 a.m. service at the First Presbyterian Church in a message entitled “Increase Our Faith”
Immediately after the service, Rack will conduct the annual Blessing of the Animals on the steps of the 126-year-old church at Third and E. Highland Aves. All area residents are invited to bring their pets.
“We bless animals to show our solidarity with God’s creation and creatures,” Rack said. “Animals were created with humans on the Sixth Day and it is our responsibility to care for them.”
In his sermon, the pastor reports that Jesus’ disciples ask him to increase their faith and Jesus responds that we demonstrate and reveal our faith by the quality of our obedience to Jesus’ commandments, which are all about love.
