RUMSON, NJ – The Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee is proud to support our 2017 Parade Charity Recipient Where Angels Play Foundation and to be one of the sponsors of the Hannah Duffy Playground, located in Tinton Falls, NJ. Hannah’s Playground was built by Where Angel’s Play Foundation to honor Hannah Duffy, who lost her battle with brain cancer in September 2013, at the age of 14. The playground ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 24th, at 4:00pm, in Liberty Park, 1400 West Park Avenue in Tinton Falls, Monmouth County.

The Where Angels Play Foundation was created by William Lavin, former President of the NJ State Firemen’s Mutual Benevolent Association in 2012 following the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut. Their vision was to memorialize the lives of the 26 victims, by building a playground in coastal towns in the tri-state area that were devastated by Hurricane Sandy. The Newtown families have assisted Where Angels Play Foundation in paying it forward by helping continue their initiative in building playgrounds for communities in need across the nation. The Where Angels Play Foundation has built 37 playgrounds to date.

“We believe in the mission and importance of the Where Angel’s Play Foundation”, said Dennis Devine,” President of the Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee. “We want to be a part of something that creates something so pure as a playground and to give a safe and fun place for our children to play, as well as supporting families in our neighboring communities that have lost their loved ones,” he added.

The Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee is a 501C-3 organization that promotes the Irish Heritage with an annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the borough of Rumson, NJ. The Committee is 100% volunteer based. The men and women of the Parade Committee raise money annually to produce the Parade and to benefit local charities throughout Monmouth County, through financial support, as a way to support all the amazing work that these charities do.
