ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS — Pastor Paul F. Rack will preach on John continuing to build his case that love is the center of Christian life in his sermon during Sunday’s 11 a.m. worship service at the 126-year-old First Presbyterian Church.
All area residents are invited to services, which will be conducted most summer Sundays until the fall in the air-conditioned Fellowship Hall in the rear of the church at Third and East Highland avenues.
The title of Rack’s sermon this week is “There Is No Fear in Love” and is based on 1 John 4:13-21.
The David Nunez-directed adult choir will perform during the service.
“John contrasts love with fear, showing them to be mutually exclusive,” Rack says. “To love is to banish fear from our hearts.”
Once again, the church is worshiping at the Gazebo in the municipal yacht harbor on the fourth Sunday of each summer month, this year on Aug. 28 and Sept. 25. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at the church.
