HIGHLANDS, NJ – Highlands Borough Clerk Carolyn Cummins and Assistant Borough Clerk Debbie Daily were injured this morning at the former borough hall.  The women were gathering files from the attic of the Sandy-damaged borough hall when they fell through the floor of the attic.

“Our borough clerk and assistant borough clerk were gathering files from our old borough hall. While they were in the process of retrieving them, the floor of the attic collapsed injuring both of them,”  said Mayor Frank Nolan.

Both women were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

“At this point the information I have is indicating the two people will make a full recovery but do have non life threatening injuries,” Nolan said.
