Walt Guenther of the Historic Society of Highlands has traced the lives of each of the men from Highlands who fell in WWII and whose names are on this monument here in Veterans Park. For over a year he researched these thirteen men in order to learn who they were and how they died and to record and preserve the memory of their sacrifices. Bob Mayers, Highlands author and veteran, will review the highlights of what Guenther has discovered about the men who gave up their lives for our freedom over seventy years ago.
